Downtown Marshall is going to be getting a truly unique new business in the form of a 24/7 golf simulator sometime in late 2026.

A brand new virtual golf simulator company called The Yardage Club has announced that they will be opening sometime late this year at 110 South Hamilton St. in Marshall, Michigan, which will be offering leagues, the ability to rent simulators for an event, real-life coaching to up your golf game, walk-in play, as well as memberships and corporate gatherings.

They announced the opening on their Facebook page, which features what I have to imagine is one of the owners' dogs, as the mascot called Jay Jay:

Hey, Marshall! Here’s your first look at The Yardage Club—a new 24/7 golf simulation clubhouse coming to downtown Marshall’s Social District in Fall 2026! Construction begins today — here's where we're headed. There’s a lot of yardage to cover between now and opening day. Follow along here to watch the transformation. Golf simulators have been continuing to step up their game with accuracy since first used in the 1970s and since then have become more popular, with entire businesses being dedicated to golf simulation.

These are mainly utilized for practice purposes, but also for the ability to continue playing the game during the winter seasons. They take some getting used to, but it’s actually pretty impressive.

How much work they put into trying to perfectly predict how you are hitting your ball.

The simulators use maths that contains infrared sensors and microchips that monitor the speed of your club as it passes the sensor, the angle of the club, and the club speed as the ball and club pass the second sensor, following impact in the direction of the ball as the club passes the third sensor to replicate you putting and driving.
