Why Everyone’s Raving About Battle Creek’s Dubai Chocolate Treat

You may have heard a lot of talk lately about Dubai Chocolate and how amazing it is. It turns out that there’s a dessert shop in Battle Creek that makes the most amazing Dubai Chocolate in the state, and my first experience with trying it changed the way I look at desserts.

But what is Dubai Chocolate, and why is the version at Simply Sensational Berries in Battle Creek the best out of them all? First, let’s talk about what it is exactly.

The chocolate bar, which has gone viral in recent months, features a milk chocolate shell filled with a pistachio cream and knafeh (shredded phyllo dough).

The bar is inspired by a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, knafeh, and there’s a large demand for it. But what Simply Sensational Berries does with their take brings the dessert to the next level.

They serve in a cup with fresh strawberries, pistachio butter, warm velvety melted chocolate, and topped with knafeh. Holy crap, you guys, I’m not even kidding when I say it was one of the richest desserts I’ve ever had.

It’s not even just Dubai Chocolate that they sell, either, as there were all sorts of desserts, including candied bacon. They also feature a small food menu.

This business was in the same building as Café Rica, another popular business in downtown Battle Creek, both of which became so popular that they opened up their own standalone shops.
