Michigan’s Top Guy Fieri “DDD” Restaurant in Potterville, is Also One of the Show’s Strangest
One of the best rated restaurants to appear on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives from Michigan, is one that might raise a few eyebrows. In fact, when Guy Fieri himself came to the spot, even HE was skeptical he would like what they had to offer.
Nevertheless, he gave it a try, and since it appeared on the show, Joe's Gizzard City in Potterville has been thriving.
Way, WAY back, when Triple-D was just getting started in its second season on the Food Network, Guy Fieri found himself cruising the streets of Potterville, Michigan in his convertible Camaro.
It was 2008, and what he found, and was TOLD to try, is now one of the top rated restaurants in the state, and one of the most memorable to ever appear on the show. Of course, Joe's Gizzard City serves MORE than just Gizzards. They also have burgers, chicken fingers, all that good stuff... but the gizzards are where it's at.
Now, up until this point, Guy claims he's never had a gizzard, because it is an odd organ in poultry that helps them digest their food. It's unique to fowl, and USUALLY a southern delicacy. However, Joe's claims to have "the best gizzards in the world."
"If you don't pressure cook them, and do it right, then they taste like shoe leather, and that's what most people do wrong."

Joe Jr. now owns and operates Gizzard City, and in the episode, he managed to convince Guy that not only are gizzards good, but might be the best part of the chicken when done right.
And of course, if you can do gizzards well, then the standard fried chicken has to be... in guy terms... "out of bounds."
So HIGHLY recommend if you're up in Potterville, get you some gizzards, and if you're in town longer than a day, go back and try the fried chicken, the fried hot dog, or the fried burger and a Frankie for dessert... or all of them at once, we won't judge.
