Three Summers In A Row Wildfires Disrupt Michigan’s Outdoor Life
The Michigan GOP is throwing a temper tantrum at Canada because of the wildfires that are devastating their land and impacting the local communities where the fires are raging.
But we don't care about that because the fire is ruining our leisure time. U.S. Representatives Jack Bergman, John Moolenaar, Bill Huizenga, Tim Walberg, Tom Barrett, Lisa McClain, and John James issued the following statement:
Instead of enjoying family vacations at Michigan’s beautiful lakes and campgrounds, for the third summer in a row, Michiganders are forced to breathe hazardous air as a result of Canada’s failure to prevent and control wildfires.
They went on to guilt-trip Canada, reminding them that, unlike them, we have seniors, pregnant women, and children with respiratory conditions:
This recurring crisis is putting public health at risk, especially for seniors, pregnant women, children, and those with respiratory conditions. We are calling on the Canadian government to take immediate and decisive action to contain these fires and prevent future wildfires. This cannot continue as an annual threat to our communities.
It's just a shame that Canada just doesn't understand the important things in life, like living a life of privileged leisure. Instead, they go and have wildfires, which massively inconvenience us.
When will Canada ever see the harm it's doing to us?
Luckily, according to WILX, Michigan has already sent firefighters to Canada to help put out the fire. If any Canadians who are feeling guilty about ruining our Summer would like to make it up to us, please feel free to send us payments in Cash (please convert to U.S. currency first) or PayPal. How about 10s and 20s?
