Goshen’s Fast-food Castle Brings Mixed Reviews From Visitors
There are some wild fast-food restaurant designs, from the UFO-themed McDonald’s in Roswell to the ones floating on the riverfront, such as the one in St. Louis until 2000.
But there is one in Indiana, which may top them all. It’s actually in Goshen, Indiana, and it’s a McDonald’s inside of a castle. What the castle actually is is a Gallop‘s Truck Stop, which is designed to resemble a medieval castle with fake stone walls and towers.
Inside has not only a McDonald’s, but a Subway, and even has showers as well. Unfortunately, as some people say, the uniqueness of this truck stop ends once you walk through the doors.
I’ve been here many times; the only thing “medieval” about it is the outside. There isn’t anything special about the McDonald's other than the drive-thru windows, and the rest of the store is just like any other truck stop. Not saying it isn’t cool, but if you’re visiting for the first time, don’t expect to walk into some memorable museum-type experience, once you’re thru the doors, it’s just a truck stop.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t just one person, but a lot of people who say that it looks way cooler than it actually is, and that other than it being designed like a castle on the outside, it is as basic as it can be on the inside.
Still, it’s not every day that you get to go and eat McDonald’s inside of a castle, so I would definitely at least try it once
