For over six years in Otsego, Liquid Note has been providing the community with great food and entertainment.

Sadly, that is coming to an end as Mark McPherson and Linda McPherson have announced that Liquid Note will be closing permanently on September 27, following the final outdoor concerts at the creative arts festival.

Over the years, they have expanded to hosting open mic nights, blues jams, and took a big risk by expanding the number of people that could attend some of their concerts.

In 2023, they had a stage built outside and ended up expanding so that at least 1200 people could attend their concerts.

Unfortunately, the lack of attendance for their shows proved to be a nail in the coffin for them. When you make a large financial investment, you need a return, and according to their press release, they unfortunately did not see the return they needed:

Although all efforts were made to increase attendance at both, our indoor and outdoor venues, attendance was certainly not what we expected. We have heard many opinions and suggestions. While some may have merit, we have done what we could with what was experienced. The lack of revenue generated at events is simply no longer sustainable. Our staff was informed a few weeks ago so that they can make plans moving forward .

It’s a very difficult time for the owners, as they expressed their love for the community less than two weeks before they close:

The memories that were created will remain in our hearts and are all very special to us.
