Easter is right around the corner as we get closer and closer to Spring, and Kalamazoo is getting ready by announcing the city's annual Easter Egg Hunt for kids. The event has been announced to take place Saturday, April 8 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Mayors' Riverfront Park, 251 Mills St. To facilitate the area for kids of all ages, there are multiple time frames reserved for certain age ranges.

Kids ages 0 - 3 will search from 2:30 - 2:45 p.m. Kids ages 4 - 6 will hunt 3:00 - 3:15 p.m., and kids ages 7 - 9 will go from 3:30 - 3:45 p.m. Although the event is free there will be food available for purchase, along with a Bounce House provided by the Kalamazoo Growlers, and Porter will also be hanging out as well.

Event Details

Adults will be allowed on the grass to help with the hunt for ages 0-3. Families with children in different age groups will be allowed to hunt together. Each child will receive a bag with candy and toys after their hunt. There will also be drawings for prize baskets prior to the event. Winners will be contacted by email and announced on social media on April 6th. Prizes can be picked up at event check-in. (Pre-registration is required for prize drawings).

 

More Spring Fun

If you're getting ready for Spring, there are lots of ways you can get ready to get out of winter. If you have a Maple tree, the first day of Spring on March 20th is when experts say you want to tap the tree. Then after you do that you can head out for Oberon Day.

Also, the Kalamazoo Growlers have also announced their schedule for their 10th season in the Northwoods league, as they'll be making their home opener against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks on May 31st at 11:05 am.
