The truly perfect musical for the Halloween season, based on the film written and starring Michigan alumni, Evil Dead is returning to Michigan for a string of October shows.

Evil Dead, the Musical is one of the most beloved musicals and usually tours around the Halloween season, and this year the Greatest Escape Stage Company is presenting this musical, which takes elements from the classic films, Evil Dead and Evil Dead II, and combines them together for one of the craziest, funniest, and bloodiest theatrical experiences you’ll ever see.

The Greatest Escape Stage Company is located at 110 East Michigan Ave. in Marshall, Michigan, and they will be performing Thursday through Sunday, October 22 through the 25th, and Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30th at 7 PM, as well as Halloween at 3 PM and 10 PM. You can get tickets here.

What's The Story About?

Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to Ash and his trusty chainsaw to save the day! You don’t need to be a fan of horror to love this show. You don’t even need to be a fan of musicals to love this show. As long as you like having fun… this show is for you!

Their site describes the stage play, which is much less gory than the films:

With a combination of blood, jokes, cheesy effects, and really awesome musical numbers, Evil Dead The Musical is unlike any live show you’ve ever seen! Silly, scary, and bloody terrific!

Possible Exclusive Appearance

There are rumors swirling that the man who designed the props for Evil Dead, like the Necronomicon and the Candarian dagger, Tom Sullivan, will be making appearances at some of the shows, as he lives in Marshall, MI.
