Community Reacts As Battle Creek’s Theater Bids Farewell For Good
Lakeview Square Mall in Battle Creek has faced its struggles for some time now, and those struggles continue to persist as the NCG movie theater inside Lakeview Square Mall abruptly closed this week.
A post made on a Facebook group suggested that they would be closing; however, there had been no official announcement made by the movie theater.
However, at the time when you went to their website, the only date you could view was Tuesday, January 6. The confirmation of the closure was officially confirmed on Wednesday as they released a statement on their website:
Thank you, neighbors. Our Battle Creek Theatre is permanently closed. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who shared movie moments with us over the years. Our appreciation for this community remains.

Although they are appreciative of their community, the community didn’t seem to care too much for their prices.
Good. Overpriced anyways. Almost $50 for my 3 year old and I to go watch Lilo and Stitch. 2 tickets, 1 popcorn, and 1 drink. I could rent at home and get more snacks with the same satisfaction.
Other people apparently forgot it was even an option.
Can't even remember the last time I went there. West Columbia used to be my go to but JC Cinema is the way to go. 2 tickets, a pretzel with cheese, large popcorn and drink for about 20 bucks there. The only downfall is the seats don't recline and there is no little food tray.
Someone suggested that the prices for rent at the mall may have been too high for the theatre to stay afloat. It's just a shame that another business in the mall is gone for good.
